As mentioned in previous reports, we integrated Civic Technologies’ Web3 identity verification tool, Civic Pass, to streamline the onboarding process for fund managers. To shed light on the tool’s functionality and data processing, our head of Business Development, Miroslav Grkovic, hosted a Twitter Spaces conversation with Civic’s representatives. Additionally, we showcased the platform’s benefits for investment syndicates in a brand new video. Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated app, designed for seamless investing and fundraising experiences, is nearing completion and is scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2023.

The integration with Civic Pass, a Web3 identity verification tool, allows fund managers on Unique.vc to conduct efficient identity checks during the onboarding process for new investors. To ensure transparency and understanding how the tool works, Miroslav Grkovic, our head of Business Development, hosted a Twitter Spaces session with Civic’s CPO, JP Bedoya, and head of communications, Becca Youngs. During the discussion, we delved into the complexities of identity management in the Web3 and blockchain space while highlighting the seamless integration of Civic Pass into the Unique.vc platform.
By incorporating Civic Pass into Unique.vc, we provide our users with the option to add an extra layer of identity verification when creating an investment vehicle. This optional verification step serves various purposes, such as ensuring that co-investors are located in specific countries or meeting specific criteria. The beauty of this integration lies in its simplicity. Users can complete the entire identity verification process within our app, without the need for any external steps.
By attaching their wallet, uploading a photo, and providing a scanned ID, users can verify their identity swiftly. It’s important to note that none of the personally identifiable information is stored on the blockchain; instead, Civic Pass only processes the data before promptly deleting it. From a user’s perspective, the identity verification process typically lasts between 2 to 5 minutes, ensuring a smooth experience for all involved.
